Rotoroura AKA Sulphur City!!

So we headed off from Auckland in the car to Rotoroura, in the middle of the North Island, as it is an area of vast Thermal and volcanic activity.

Being scientists and having visited a volcanic island in Sicily last year, you would have thought we would have remembered that where there is volcanic or thermal activity there is Sulphur Dioxide!  The town is called Sulphur city for a reason!!  Eggy!!!

We didn't climb the fences, we're not stupid!

Geyster Owling!!

We had a great time visiting all the mud pools and Geysters, they were very impressive, and such an unusual variety in colours on the rocks.
