Wine, Wine, and more Wine

Drove to Hunter Valley from Sydney yesterday after having checked out from Radisson and picking up a car from Avis. This time the car is a LOT sportier than it was last time; so much so that in the rain that we drove through for the first 2 hours, I had to be REALLY careful with the accelerator, as everything else just led to wheel spin.

Half way there, we had to stop for the mandatory food/toilet/random shops break, and we found a Westfields! Having only experienced really immense Westfields before, we thought this one was going to be the same... but it was a bit of a dump... Still had a store where we could buy water though! So now we're stocked up again, for the coming 7 days of driving :-)

The place that we are staying at in Hunter valley (Hunter Resort) is quite pretty and peaceful, and there are 120 other wineries to choose from in the area!... and a few cheese places... we're off to a cheese store for lunch today I think. Apart from that, there's not a smashing lot to do around here though, apart from nice walks. We did a short one last evening, and here are some pictures from it. Victoria managed to get an Owling one in :-)

I think we're probably both hitting the point in the trip where we're getting a bit homesick. Having an amazing time here! but also miss the sofa and our living room. I even miss WORK a bit :-)

Cool clouds over the Winery

Victoria decides on the ponytail approach for getting rid of flies... it works for horses, so why not? :-)

  1. LOoks similar to Pitsford were we have been today, chilly wind but glorious sunshine. Have a lovely rest in the warmth, trip of a lifetime you are having and the photos are great, not sure about the flies though! x
